The local community is in the process of expanding the baseball/softball facilities to improve the experience for all athletes involved with State Park.
The increase in the number of teams and the variety of leagues that State Park offers has created the need to expand the facilities to serve the varied needs of our constituency. Improved facilities will include:
·A third field
·More parking
·Batting cages
·Sidewalks

Challengers (Special Needs Children)
Providing a Challenger-friendly field will create a safer experience for the "special needs” athletes that play within the two divisions of Challengers baseball. The two Divisions provide our physically and mentally impaired athletes the opportunity to play baseball.
The advantages of a Challenger-friendly field would provide the kids the following benefits:
·A soft level playing field that would cushion falls and allow physically challenged players, including those in wheel chairs and walkers, to get around the field easier
·Handicap accessible dugouts will provide a more comfortable and safer environment
·Bases level with the ground will make going from base to base easier and safer |
Traditional Baseball and Softball Leagues
With the addition of a third field, we will be adding batting cages to the facility providing additional opportunities for all of the athletes. The benefits to this group will include:
·Improved developmental opportunities by utilizing the batting cages for batting and pitching instruction
·More flexibility in scheduling games with fewer divisions needing the two existing fields
·Room for growth as the area population grows |
|
Tee-ball and Instructional League
·The tee-ball and instructional league players will also use this dual purpose field. The advantages for using the players in these divisions include:
·The same safety factors from Challengers baseball would provide a safer environment for our youngest athletes
·More flexibility in scheduling games would be available |
State Park Little League Parents and Fans
Additional enhancements will include more parking, sidewalks, and handicap accessible restrooms. The benefits to this group include:
·Safer environment due to less traffic congestion
·Easier to get around the park due to the level sidewalks
·Improved restroom facilities will make a day at the ball park more comfortable |
