11/12 Boys All Stars District and State Recaps

State Park 11-12 boys win their first game 12 / 2 over East Chicago. Cole Teal,Kevin Jones and
Andrew Ralph all pitched well for S.P. Jacob Andert and Tyler Quillin hit HR'S.

The 12 yr old Boys all-stars continue to make their way through the losers bracket with wins over Miller 26 to 1,Union Twnshp 17 to 2 and Gary 4 to 2. All around team pitching and hitting has helped State Park. State Park has hit 11 Hrs in the tournament. State Park will play Monday July 14 at 6PM in Indiana Harbor.

Another big win for State Parks 12 yr old boys team on Monday over Portage National 10 to 0 in four innings.State Parks team hitting and base running made the difference in the game along with a great outing by Kevin Jones on the mound.Andrew Ralph also went yard for State Park. State Park will continue play on Tuesday July,15 @ 6 PM in Indiana Harbor.

The 11/12 yr old all-star team has made it to the championship game against Lakefront Michigan City Thursday July 17 @ 6 PM in Indiana Harbor.State Park has won six in a row by outscoring there opponent 86 to 11. Great team hitting and defense has made the difference for State Park.
 

G1:

In the opening game at state in Highland , State Park lost a tough game to Browsburg 2 to 1.Kevin Jones went the distance for State Park by pitching 6 inning giving up 3 hits and striking out 4 batters.At one point in the game Kevin and his defense retired 16 batters in a row.State Parks great defense kept the game close. State Park will return to action Tuesday night against Munster at 7:45 PM and Wednesday night against Terre Haute North at 5;45 PM.
 
 

G2:

State Parks 12 yr old all stars played one of the greatest baseball games of the year against a good Munster team winning 6 to 4.State Park was down 3 to 1 in the top of the sixth and put together one of the greatest com backs the game has ever scene. Timely hitting in the sixth by the team and good base running helped State Park get the victory.

State Parks defense helped Sate Park stay in the game all night.State Park will play Terre Haute North on Wednesday night at 5:45 PM in Highland.
State Park moves on in the state tournament at Highland LL. State Park beat Terre Haute North 8 to 7 on a great pitching performance by Tyler Quillin. Once again good team hitting and base running helped in the win. Tyler Quillin and Kevin Jones hit back to back HRS in the fifth. Jacob Andert was 2 for 3 and scored twice for State Park. The defense was lead by Jack Musgrave with another solid performance at second base. State Park will play Thursday at 6:15 against Jeffersonville.
 
 

A tough loss to Jeffersonville 10 to 0 ended State Park's run for the state championship. State Park finished 2-2, claiming fourth place in state. The guys had a great run this year and I want to thank all the fans who came out to support the team. Ken Jaeger
