STATE PARK 11 / 12 YR OLD GIRL ALL - STARS WIN DISTRICT 1 TITLE
State Park's 11/12 yr old all - stars took the District 1 title by going 2 - 0 in pool play, and then beating Longfellow Little League for the Championship.
In State Park's 1st pool play game they took on Longfellow LL and won 35 - 0. Leading the offense was Trenee Fancher - Keller, she was 4 for 4 with 4 RBI"S and 4 runs scored. She led off the third inning, and blasted a solo shot over the left field fence. Other leading hitters were Sierra LaFreniere 2 for 4, 6 RBI"S, Abby Canright 2 for 3, 5 RBI"S, Abby Brown 3 for 5, 3 RBI"S, Jordan Wadding 2 for 2 , 3 RBI"S. On the mound, Abby Canright and Savannah McCafferty combined for a no - hitter. Abby got the win with 6 strikeouts, while Savannah had 5.
In State Park's 2nd pool play game they took on Gary Youth, and cruised to a 26 - 0 victory. McCafferty led the offense by going 4 for 5 with 4 RBI"S. Also contributing was Braelyn Molenda 2 for 3, Canright 2 for 2, Fancher - Keller 2 for 3 and Wadding 2 for 2. McCafferty and Canright would team up again for a no - hitter. This time McCafferty would pick up the win with both girl's striking out 5.
In the Championship game State Park's bats came out on fire, with Fancher - Keller hitting a 3 run blast to extend the lead to 10 - 0 in the first inning. Other leading hitters were Jessica Ciesielski 4 for 4 with 4 RBI"S, adding two hits a piece were Natalie Melcher, Molenda, Raven Bach, LaFreniere, and Wadding. On the mound, Canright, McCafferty, and Wadding combined to pitch another no - hitter with Canright picking up the win.
State Park advances to play in the Sectional 2 at Hessville LL. State Park will take on Hessville in a best out of three format. Game days are Thursday, Friday, and the if necessary Saturday. Game times are 6:00.
