The State Park Thriller's took 2 out of 3 against Hessville Little League to earn a trip to the State tournament, which is being held at Indiana Central Little League.  
   State park opened Sectional play on Thursday with a 7 - 2 victory.  On Friday night it was a pitcher's duel, with Savannah McCafferty suffering the hard luck loss.  She struck out 4 while only giving up one hit.  State Park scored their lone run in the 4th inning when Abby Canright drove in Becky Rizer.  Hessville would come back in their half of the 4th with a unearned run.  Both teams would add some nice defensive plays.  For State Park, Sierra LaFreniere gunned down two potential base stealer's one at second and the other at third.  Jordan Wadding would also gun down a runner trying to extend a base hit at second.  In the bottom of the sixth, Hessville reached first a an error.  Then Hessville got their lone hit which drove in the game winning run.
   In the Championship Game on Saturday, State Park took control early.  Hessville went 3 up 3 down in their half of the first inning.  Braelyn Molenda would start State Park's half of the first with a double to left field.  Trenee Fancher - Keller would follow with a double that plated Molenda.  After a base on balls and a Hessville error, McCafferty, Canright, and Courtney O'Keefe would add RBI singles, which put State Park up 5 - 0.  State Park would add 2 more runs in the 3rd inning.  McCafferty would get things started with a double. Followed by O'Keefe and Molenda"s RBI singles.  Getting the win on the mound was Canright, she struck out 9 while only giving up one hit.
   State Park will now play in the State Tournament which is being held at Indiana Central Little League ( Indianapolis ).  State Park's pool play schedule is Saturday July 18 at 1:00, Sunday July 19 at 5:00, and Monday July 20 at 2:00.  For results of the games, look at State Park's website  stateparklittleleague.com
