Game #1 July 30
The State Park Lady Trojans opened the 2009 Indiana 9 &10 State Little League Tournament on the short end of a double no-hitter July 30, 4-0 to Silver Creek.

Lia Lombardini struck out seven while allowing five walks in the opener, holding Silver Creek to one run through five innings.  Lombardini opened the bottom of the fifth with two walks, then suffered through a throwing error on a sacrifice and an obstruction call.  The obstruction call was key as the original play was an out call at the plate on a perfect peg from right fielder Jenna Wadding to catcher Britta Johnson to nail the lead-off hitter for Silver Creek.  The call was reversed and the runner deemed safe, when the umpiring crew determined there was obstruction at third base preventing the runner from freely advancing, ultimately leading to the out.

The Lady Trojans offense posted 11 strikeouts; Daisy Judy with a walk in the third inning was the sole runner for State Park.  Judy advanced to second, but was left stranded.

The loss placed the Lady Trojans record at 0-1 for pool play.

Game #2 July 31

The State Park Lady Trojans followed up their disappointing start to the 2009 Indiana 9 &10 State Little League Tournament, with their second no-hitter in as many days, defeating West Lafayette, 17-0 July 31.

Kylie Sabol was perfect through two innings, striking out four, while Brittany Milzarek struck out six out of seven to close out the game, shortened by the 10 run mercy rule.

The Lady Trojans hitting woes continued, only able to punch out three hits, one apiece for Milzarek, Kendall Fancher Keller, and Lia Lombardini.  The Lady Trojans capitalized on 22 walks and 2 errors by West Lafayette to plate their runs.

The victory puts State Park in the driver's seat to end their pool play as the second seed.  Entering Friday's game the SPLT were 1-1 with a .4 runs per inning allowed ratio, second only to Tournament Favorite Silver Creek's 0.0 rpia ratio.

Next up, Don Ayers, Saturday August 1, 10:00 AM, Zionsville, IN.
