Updated:  08/13/2009 at 12:23 PM
The 2009 State Park Lady Trojans 9 & 10 Softball All-Stars closed out the State Tournament in Zionsville with a 10-3 loss to Southeast South Bend Sunday, finishing third overall in the State of Indiana.

The Lady Trojans, who boasted three no-hit pitched games during the Tournament, struggled on the mound, giving up 11 walks peppered with five singles and two triples. Kylie Sabol, Brittany Milzarek and Lia Lombardini toiled all four games for State Park, racking up a total of 38 Strikeouts, and a 3.5 runs per game average.

Defense was solid during the Tournament, punctuated by numerous outstanding plays in the Semi-Final game.  Right Fielder Jenna Wadding pulled in a sinking line drive with runners at second and third to keep the damage at three runs in the second inning.  With runners at second and third again in the third inning, right fielder Marissa Ciesielski ran down a South East gapper to again thwart a scoring opportunity.  In the fourth inning, third baseman Kendall Fancher-Keller pulled in a pop fly up the third base line, then beat the South East runner back to third for a double play to end another scoring threat. The fifth inning saw second baseman Daisy Judy chase down a bloop pop fly behind first base, while catcher Britta Johnson snared a pop foul to the right of the plate to end another South East rally.

Lombardini punched out two singles, one to plate the Lady Trojans first inning run, while Johnson drove in the last two with a triple in the third.  Milzarek rapped out a single in the first and Johnson added a single in the fifth to complete the Lady Trojans hitting attack.

State Park played well throughout, going 8-2 in the Tournament; 4-0 during District Play, 2-0 in Sectional Play, and finishing 2-2 at the State Level.
