2020 Season Reboot Plan

Hello again State Park family and friends,

Baseball is on the horizon!  When Governor Holcomb made his announcement on Friday, May 1st the light at the end of the tunnel became brighter.  His 5-stage plan provided a blueprint for returning to life in ways to what we're all accustomed to.  Starting tomorrow, our county is moving into stage 2 of the plan and on May 24th, we are supposed to enter stage 3 of the plan.  If everything goes according to plan Stage 4 of the blueprint, which would allow us to resume activities, is slated to begin on June 14th.

The State Park Little League Board of Directors has been meeting regularly since the Pandemic began to impact our community. In a Board meeting last night we approved a plan to both resume activities at the appropriate time while also allowing those families that will not be ready to participate in youth activities options for their existing registrations. We anticipate restarting our activities on June 14th, this will be the start date when teams can begin practices in preparation for the season. Our new Opening Day is slated for July 11 after the State of Indiana enters Phase 5 of the reopening, this is the day we anticipate starting games at the State Park Little League facility, we anticipate the season ending on August 29.

We understand there might be families not comfortable with resuming youth sports activities at this time and we are providing options for families to choose what is the best path for them.  Families that are currently registered will have the following options:

Option 1: Continue with your registration in anticipation of resuming activities June 14.

Option 2: If our timeline for relaunch does not work for your family but you would like to apply your registration fees to future seasons you can choose this option.

Option 3: Registration less Raffle Ticket funds:  For those families that have picked up their raffle tickets previously that do not select Option 1 or 2, they can request a refund of their Registration Fees less Raffle Ticket funds and Sports Engines $3 service charge.

Option 4: Full Registration Refund: For those families that have not yet picked up their Raffle Tickets you can request a full refund less Sports Engines $3 service charge.

At this time we would ask that you follow this link (or copy the one below) and fill in the requested information and choose which option applies to you and your family.

We also anticipate that there are families who either missed the Spring registration period or due to other activities being cancelled wish to now participate in State Park’s Little League program.  For these families we will be re-opening registration for the 2020 Spring/Summer season to run from May 11th - May 30th.  If you know of families who might be interested please let them know to be on the lookout for more information via our Facebook page

Key dates moving forward:

May 11: New Registration Date Opens

May 30: New Registration Closes

June 14: Practices can begin.  Coaches will be in touch with families to inform them about the practice schedule.

July 11: OPENING DAY!

August 29: Season End

So as the weather begins to turn more positive, so do the thoughts and chances of playing baseball.  Who really wanted to play baseball in the snow in April anyway?  As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to any of the Board members.  Continue to stay safe and healthy!  Thank you for your support and understanding during this unprecedented time!
